چکیده

A theoretical model is proposed to predict Darcy-scale mass transport in porous media coupled with nonequilibrium heat transfer and taking into account the thermal diffusion process. volume-averaging technique was used approximations leading a two-equation or two-temperature for macroscale energy balance equations. Because of Soret effect, concentration deviation respect averaged value function temperature gradients fluid phase, gradient solid difference between two temperatures. The mapping deviations averages involves four closure problems equations: were solved numerically over two-dimensional periodic-unit cell evaluation purposes. results show that effective coefficients depend strongly on thermophysical properties medium Peclet number. In particular, effective-Soret coefficient changes number phases' conductivity ratios.

Comparison of Thermal Dispersion Effects for Single and two Phase Analysis of Heat Transfer in Porous Media

The present work involves numerical simulation of a steady, incompressible forcedconvection fluid flow through a matrix of porous media between two parallel plates at constanttemperature. A Darcy model for the momentum equation was employed. The mathematical model forenergy transport was based on single phase equation model which assumes local thermal equilibriumbetween fluid and solid phases. ...

A Numerical Modeling for Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Porous Media With Generated Internal Heat Sources

In this paper a numerical method is used to study the unsteady state natural convection heat transfer within a confined porous media with uniform internal heat generation. The governing equations based on the Darcy model and Bossiness approximations are solved, using the finite difference Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) method. The developed program was used to simulate natural convection ...

Heat and Mass Transfer in Thermal Plasmas

The present status of plasma processes involving heat and mass transfer is surveyed, with particular reference to the proceses of vaporization, condensation and chemical reaction. Some of the more important plasma techniques are discussed with emphasis placed on means for maximising the overall thermal efficiency of the mass transfer process, and for controlling the properties of the condensed ...
